We surveyed 165 fraud leaders at community banks, regional banks, and credit unions on losses, staffing, technology, and budget. Get the report first.

We surveyed 165 fraud leaders at community banks and credit unions on losses, staffing, technology, reporting, and budget.
Fraud losses are rising at nearly 3 out of 4 institutions, and the median 2025 loss reported was $2 million, up from $1.63 million just two years earlier.
But the numbers behind those numbers are more interesting. Fraud teams are strained, and it's not because of alert volume or open headcount. Most institutions already have solid detection technology, yet fewer than half share fraud data with their AML, cyber, or enterprise risk teams.
And the single most requested change from fraud leaders isn't a new tool, it's a better way to show leadership the fraud that never happened.
Those are just a few of the findings from 165 fraud leaders at community banks, regional banks, and credit unions across the country. The full report breaks it all down by institution type and asset size, so you can see exactly how your program compares to your actual peer group, not just the industry as a whole.
