Sardine product updates: June 2025
Fraud prevention, compliance workflows, and merchant risk management all present daily operational challenges. This month’s product updates directly address these pain points, delivering enhanced control and actionable insights where your teams need them most. From AI-powered rule creation to real-time performance monitoring, these new capabilities streamline complex processes, helping your teams work smarter, respond faster, and reduce risk across the board.
AI rule builder
Our new AI Rule Builder makes it easier than ever to create fraud detection rules. Just describe the pattern you want to catch in plain language, and Sardine instantly generates a production-ready rule you can test and deploy within minutes. It works across languages too, so global teams can write rules in their native language without extra translation or formatting.
Many fraud teams come to us bottlenecked by engineering resources or vendor limitations when they need to write or update rules. We solved this with our no-code Rule Builder, and this new AI feature now makes the process even faster. Customers already using it in production are reducing rule creation time by 85 percent. This kind of speed and autonomy is especially critical during large-scale fraud events, like credential stuffing attacks or coordinated fraud rings, where every minute counts.
ML model performance monitoring
Understanding model performance is essential for effective fraud prevention. With our new ML Score Charts, you gain real-time visibility into how your models behave. This makes it easier to detect drift, spot anomalies, and monitor performance trends before they lead to false positives or missed threats.
You can toggle between raw scores and normalized percentiles to gain deeper context around what’s truly unusual versus what’s just noise. It’s also possible to compare performance across candidate and production environments, allowing you to investigate deviations and roll out updates with greater confidence.

Custom field search within Customer Intelligence
Many teams rely on custom fields to track unique customer attributes such as acquisition channels, loyalty tiers, or experimental groups. Sardine now makes it easy to search and segment directly across these fields within Customer Intelligence.
This unlocks granular filtering and discovery, allowing teams to quickly identify precise customer segments and tailor detection strategies with greater accuracy. You can isolate behavioral patterns, run targeted investigations, and refine rules based on attributes that matter most to your business.
Common use cases include:
- Identifying users from a specific marketing campaign.
- Segmenting customers participating in an A/B test.
- Locating VIP or high-risk customer tiers for review.
- Analyzing trends within region-specific cohorts.

Continuous Activity Reporting (CAR)
Maintaining BSA/AML compliance requires diligent follow-up on Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). We've streamlined this process with Continuous Activity Reporting (CAR), which enables follow-up filings when identical suspicious activity continues beyond the initial SAR.
A CAR can be filed between 90 and 120 days after the original SAR submission, helping financial institutions reduce redundancy while highlighting ongoing threats. A new Generate CAR icon will appear in the Filed Activity Reports tab when conditions are met, making continued reporting more intuitive and efficient.

Merchant document analysis
Document processing plays a critical role in underwriting and merchant risk evaluations. We now support document upload and analysis capabilities, starting with bank statements and extending to custom document types that provide a deeper view into merchant financials.
You can now:
- Extract balance trends, cash flow patterns, and liquidity indicators.
- Identify potential fraud signals directly within uploaded statements.
- Define custom document formats and extract specific fields for tailored insights.
These enhancements enable more comprehensive, flexible risk assessments and support better decision-making across your merchant onboarding and monitoring workflows.

Business rep verification
Verifying the individuals behind a business is a critical part of any KYB program. Our new People Verification feature helps compliance teams quickly confirm whether submitted business representatives match official records, including Secretary of State data.
On the Business Profile page, representatives are now organized into three categories:
- Submitted People: manually provided by the business.
- Identified People: surfaced from authoritative data sources.
- Verified: confirmed matches between the two.
This structured view gives compliance teams greater confidence when assessing business legitimacy and beneficial ownership. It reduces manual verification steps, flags inconsistencies early, and strengthens onboarding decisions, especially in cases where fraud or shell activity may be a concern.

My Alerts view
As alert volumes grow, managing triage efficiently becomes a team-wide challenge. The new My Alerts view gives every analyst a personalized, organized workspace within the Sardine Dashboard — consolidating assigned alerts, prioritization cues, and performance insights in one place.
Designed to help compliance teams move faster without losing focus, this view includes tools for queue management, workload distribution, and real-time performance tracking. Key features include:
- Queue and Analyst Selector to assign and review alert ownership.
- Overview Widget to monitor analyst and queue-level performance.
- Searchable, filterable statuses to zero in on what's most urgent.
- Save View to customize layouts based on analyst workflows.
By giving analysts the clarity they need and managers the oversight they expect, My Alerts helps teams reduce noise, speed up resolutions, and maintain quality as volumes scale.

API connector
You can now connect your Sardine workflows to any third-party app or internal system using the new API Connector node. With support for Basic and Token Authentication, this update makes it easy to trigger actions across your existing toolstack.
You can use it to send 2FA emails or SMS messages, update task management systems, or call internal APIs with custom logic. The connector supports dynamic parameterization using Sardine request data, so you can tailor each call to the context of the event. Whether you're enriching alerts, kicking off review processes, or coordinating downstream systems, this feature unlocks powerful, end-to-end automation that fits the way your team works.

Onboarding IDs
For teams with dynamic onboarding flows, assigning a permanent user ID too early can create friction or gaps in tracking. Sardine now supports onboardingIDs
as temporary identifiers, giving you the flexibility to manage users from the very first interaction — even before full account creation.
This update ensures a smooth handoff between pre- and post-onboarding states, preserving context across risk checks, decisioning workflows, and user history. You can also search and filter by onboardingID
in the Dashboard, making it easier to troubleshoot, escalate, or track users across the full onboarding lifecycle.

Embedded analytics
Investigators need to spot risk patterns quickly and take action with confidence. Our new Investigative Charts bring real-time visual insights directly into your workflows across key areas of the platform including Customer Intelligence, Feedback, and Queue Details.
These embedded charts automatically reflect active filters and surface the metrics that matter most. You can highlight emerging risk trends, isolate anomalies, and reduce time-to-insight during reviews or escalations.
On the Feedback page, dynamic dropdowns are powered by your team's actual data, showing only the feedback types and statuses you actively use. This reduces noise and sharpens focus where it counts most.

We’re continuously evolving the Sardine Platform to provide sharper tools for fraud detection, compliance, and merchant risk operations. These updates reflect our commitment to delivering intuitive workflows, real-time intelligence, and greater control.
