Soups Ranjan is the CEO and Co-founder of Sardine, the leading AI Risk Platform for fraud and compliance. Today, Sardine serves over 300 global enterprises in 70 countries, and is backed by leading investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Activant Capital, Visa, Experian, Moody’s, FIS, and Geodesic Capital.

Before founding Sardine, Soups built and led risk functions at two of the fastest-scaling companies in financial services. As Head of Risk at Coinbase, he designed and scaled fraud, compliance, and identity systems that supported 1000x customer growth during the crypto boom. At Revolut, he served as Head of Financial Crime, building its fraud and compliance stack from the ground up. With more than 20 years of experience across engineering, data science, and risk, Soups has experience tackling fraud in some of the world’s highest risk industries.

Previously, Soups co-founded Risk Salon, a think tank for risk leaders in fintech and technology, and regularly writes about fraud prevention, financial services, and thoughtful company building. Soups holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rice University, where his research focused on scaling web services to withstand denial-of-service and other cyber threats.
